Yes, here we are in October with Samhain looming on the horizon and I know that it is time to get back to business.

Last month was awash in frustrations and overwhelming business. The old adage of some much to do and not enough time to do it in certainly took precedence. September seemed to be bogged down with a lack of time, lack of rest and a lack of action. Because of last month it has occurred to me that I need to take a better hold of my projects and sadly need to let a few of them go.

As of yesterday, I resigned from my position as Nevada State Chair of the Pagan Unity Campaign. I did not make the decision lightly but feel that it is a choice that is in the best interest of both the organization and myself. While in Maine, I was the PUC state chair there so when I moved to Nevada and found that they were without a chair I stepped up and volunteered. My issue lies not with the goals of the organization itself but lies at this moment in time with the organizations current leadership, that I do not personally feel is being run with the best interest of the PUC as a while in mind. As with any organization, Pagan or not there is a need for structure and commonality. Unfortunately, with the PUC being a political group and given the current political climate in our country the organization started to turn from being one of education and support to that of personal political bickering. Now, I am not saying that one should not join with the PUC, I am just saying that if one were to join now and work toward the goals that the organization is supposed to be working towards along with the many fine Pagan’s who are still involved with trying to make that happen… then one should join. At the moment in my life, I just do not have the time that is needed to devote to making that happen. I do, however still believe in the PUC and feel that it is a needed organization here in our country.

I am also cutting my writing projects down but am unsure how that will all work out. As of right now, I write in six different channels at BrightHub, was just made the national writer on Religion & Spirituality for the Examiner, am giving interviews and writing for a Pagan thesis at UNR, writing for a local women’s zine, am trying to keep up on writing content for three separate web sites, reviews with promotion for an upcoming book release party for a local author and now I have someone contacting me who would like me to work form them in a political position. All of which needs to be done around my families schedule because above all they come first and that I would not have any other way. So, as you can see I really need to work on my time management skills.

How will it all work out? I have no idea but I am sure of one thing with Samhain coming… I need to get it figured out before the powers that be tend to it for me.

Next post I’ll be going back to covering the Pagan Professional of the Week.

Thank you all for your patience.
