Last night, just after 11:00 p.m. the house began to shake. It was a mild shaking period and we are all right now.

Looking at the information for my area the quakes have been cycling between the Verdi, CA area and the greater Reno, NV area since April 19th. The last one that was recorded through the news was the series of 125 quakes around and in the greater Reno area that began this past Thursday and continued for 24hrs.

The local news stations do not have much current information at all. So, to get the most update real-time information you need to check with both the National Earthquake Information Center and the University of Reno’s Nevada Seismological Lab.

As, of right now my area has gotten 135 quakes since midnight 4/26/08.

Okay, my blog wasn’t really down today but my connection was. As someone who writes for various websites at the moment due to excluding print pubs, having that connection go down was not an auspicious thing at all. Here it is now after nine p.m. and I am just getting to e-mails that needed to be returned many hours ago.

On the bonus side I got to clean out the pantry, bag clothes for donations, go through some paperwork, clean up the picnic basket, give myself a mani-pedi in a fabulous midnight blue and catch up on a couple of episodes of The L Word.

As a person who is normally going all day at full tilt seven days a week, I think the universe was forcing me to take a bit of a break. I’ve only come to that conclusion since my Terry, a Geek God in his own right, came home and the connection was magically restored. I do love him.

And now for your viewing pleasure (keeping in line of making this an actual personal life post) here is Terry and myself at the waterfall here in Carson City.

I shall continue the What is… series tomorrow morning as well as finish returning e-mails and such.
